Aston Villa Football Club Selects Charles Lawrence Surfaces Ltd.
Charles Lawrence Surfaces have been selected to install their Polytan LIGATURF synthetic grass system on the new indoor pitch at Aston Villa's training ground at Bodymoor Heath.

Academy Director, Bryan Jones said "The selection of the playing surface was vitally important to us and we inspected all the leading surfaces to ensure we were getting the best". "We wanted a top quality football surface which was also capable of taking some multi-sport use for our young footballers at the Academy". "We also wanted a surface which maintains its playing characteristics and does not compact and become hard". "When we play tested LIGATURF with its anti-compaction system we quickly realised this surface exceeded all our requirements".
The selected system, LIGATURF 240 ACS 65, will meet the demanding requirements of FIFA 2 Star, the highest standard for football surfaces. In fact the LIGATURF system has more FIFA 2 Star installations than any other surface, and has been used for UEFA Cup matches at The Red Bull Stadium in Salzburg and the FIFA under 17 World Championships in Peru.
Work has already begun on the indoor pitch and is due to be completed this summer.
