Multi-sport areas can provide highly flexible recreation facilities for schools, colleges, parks, and leisure centres. They range up to small pitch size - large enough for seven-a-side football or three tennis courts - but often exploit much smaller areas of ground. At commercial leisure centres, a multi-sport area can act as a valuable overflow and generate additional revenue, especially if floodlit.
