CLS Go for Gold
Charles Lawrence Surfaces have recently completed the
refurbishment of two London athletics tracks used as official
training venues for the 2012 Olympics.
The tracks utilise two different surface types, a 'fast'
pre-fabricated surface replicating that used at the main Olympic
Park for both able bodied athletes and paralympians, and a slightly
softer insitu track more suited to distance training.
Both projects were secured after a rigorous tender procedure and
it goes without saying that quality of product and delivery were
paramount. We are pleased to report that all the final surfaces
passed their performance tests with flying colours.
Charles Lawrence Surfaces civil engineering division Woodholme
Construction undertook the base constructions and macadam surfacing
using the same skilled workforce and laser controlled equipment
utilised in all our sports contracts. We are pleased to say that
the project was successfully completed on time, passing all it's
rigorous control tests.
Charles Lawrence Surfaces were also responsible for originally
constructing, and more recently refurbishing the track facilities
at Lea Valley in readiness for the Olympics.
