• The client on this project was Blaydon Leisure Centre.
  • The scope of works included the construction of a new full sized 3G football pitch and the reconstruction of an existing redgra athletics track.
  • The area of the pitch was 7420m2 with a 50mm pile 3G sand/rubber filled carpet including line markings for Football.
  • The track was a Herculan National Porous 6 lane track with a 6 lane straight.
  • All works were completed in a 20 week timescale.
  • Approximately, the project came to the value of £1,040,000.00+ VAT.

  • A full construction was required for the pitch, the extent of which included excavations, installation of the drainage, sub base and kerbs and macadam.
  • For the athletics track, the existing redgra surface was removed, the base regraded and added to before macadam was installed and the synthetic surface.
  • A new fencing scheme consisting of 4.50m high standard bar fencing, 4.5m high twin bar fencing with rebound panel, 1.2m high spectator fencing, 1.20m wide x 1.20m high single leaf gate, 1.20m wide x 4.5m high single leaf gate and double leaf gate, and 1 no. pitch divider.
  • A new 200 lux floodlighting scheme was installed.
  • Additionally, new sets of football goals were erected to complete the installation, litter bins, boot wipers and a set of flags.
