Highfields School, Matlock

We are delighted to announce that works have been completed and handed over at Highfields School, Matlock. This project involved the full construction of a new 97m x 61m 3G synthetic pitch with macadam recesses and spectator area (total 6281m2) with black fencing and LED floodlighting as well as the refurbishment of two macadam MUGAs with new macadam layer, colour coating and line marking.

Contract’s Manager Richard Jagger says “This project has certainly had it’s challenges because of the supply chain issues we’ve faced this year across all elements of the build, but our team and sub-contractors have worked hard to get this project completed to the highest of standards and the overall result is something we should be proud of”.

This build was overseen by Sports Consultant, Surfacing Standards Ltd on behalf of the school and has included some interesting features such as the installation of infill mitigation measures with timber kickboards around the perimeter fencing and detox grids on entry points. This is part of the innovation around preventing microplastic migration from the SBR performance crumb.

We hope this will provide the students and surrounding community with the great benefits of being able to play sport all year round that AGPs and MUGAs can bring.
